Hotel Barbato

This was presented as a 4-star hotel when we made our reservation. The room, whilst large for one queen bed, was not designed for 2 beds. So the second bed (a sofa that converts to a bed our kids slept on) was placed at the foot of the queen bed, the headboard of the second bed abutting the footboard of the queen bed and leaving minimal space around. The room was clean, the bathroom decent, front office staff friendly and courteous. But this is a 2-star or 2.5 star hotel at best. Lastly, sadly, Europe has changed in the name of climate change lunacy. In the 7 hotels we stayed in, in Switzerland and Italy, none had irons or ironing boards any more, and none had coffee makers. They had kettles and instant coffee sachets, an insult to the great coffee-drinking tradition of both these countries.

It's ok. The shower is hot. The bed is hard and so are the pillows. They do have a lift. But the room smelt like mold. The safe moved about. The fridge is not very cold. It's far from the centre of the city. And you don't want to be near the city

Wasn’t terrible, however definitely not a 4-star hotel as advertised online. Mould prevalent in spots in the bathroom, and many patch-up jobs are evident in the room which takes away from any possible “4-star” ambiance there may have been. We had bright signage lights shining directly into our room from the external of the building, making the room very bright overnight. Location is not the most convenient location either, so be prepared to use taxi’s or public transport to get to and from Napoli Central.
