Hotel Barchetta Excelsior

Can't beat the location. Front row to the best views in Como if you get the lake side. Great walking distance to everything in Como including the boat docks and ferries. Breakfast was pretty good for buffet. Full English breakfast plus lots of baked goods, fresh fruit, juices, prosecco, coffee, tea, etc. Room was clean and well appointed. Bathroom a bit tight as usual in Italy. That said tub/shower was particularly small and a bit uncomfortable. Balcony is a comfortable size, and as said, great view. Would definitely return.

Amazing place in a beautiful location. One of the best in-hotel breakfasts in all of my years of traveling. This hotel is everything you can ask for and more. Dinner options in the hotel as well and it's location is literally across from Lake Como.

If you wish to stay in the city of Como this hotel has a perfect location. It is a typical 4 star hotel with a business feel. There is no gym on property but they have an arrangement with a hotel very close. The hotel bar and lounge is nice with inside and outside seating. All shops and services are close. The ferry service is in front of the hotel. A fantastic thing that separates this hotel from those on the water is that Hotel Burchetts Excelsior sits behind the public square and off of the main road. Although I could hear noise outside it wasn’t a problem to sleep. I was visiting with a large group and the hotel did a good job accommodating us. The funicular is a 5-10 minute walk and the harbor walks are nice as well. The hotel is a doable walk from the train station.
