This hotel has the most friendly and accommodating staff. The staff is always attentive without be intrusive. Top of the line quality rooms, very clean. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with amazing views of the ocean. The beautiful public Careyeros beach is 8 minutes walk away and worth it. Free use of beach towels, umbrella, and other beach equipment. Can't wait to come back!
Absolutely amazing hotel. 10/10. The location is stunning, the hotel itself is so cute, the staff were wonderful, and their on site restaurant was delicious. Everything was great! We will be back.
We had such a wonderful experience here, I hardly know where to begin. While it's not a big building, the rooms are airy, well appointed and stylish, and it never feels cramped. If your budget allows, I definitely recommend the ocean-view rooms, you're quite high up with the waves rolling in below you and birds floating by on the wind. As a bonus, we were there in March and watched whales breaching offshore as we sat on our balcony! It was magical. The third floor pool and bar is a gorgeous place to have a swim, a drink and watch the sunsets in the evening. The restaurant is excellent - honestly nearly everything we tried on the menu was very good - and reasonably priced too. But the stars of the whole place really are the staff - they are incredibly helpful, friendly and chill and ready to help with whatever we needed. For example we really liked having our coffee on the balcony in the morning - plus the coffee in the restaurant was one of the few things that wasn't awesome (really a minor niggle) - so they made sure we had extra Nespresso pods for us in our room. When they saw I was using their gym (small but very well equipped) someone would always come in an offer to turn up the AC for me. The list goes on. Our goal for this trip was mostly to walk the long and lovely beaches, read and do short trips into the town of Punta Mita (which we did on the bikes they have available), but if you want to do more I'd recommend having a car as there are only two restaurants within walking distance — and weirdly, the whole west side of Punta Mita is owned by Four Seasons and private owners, so you can only go in there if a) you have a reservation and b) you are in a car. Anyway, I could go on, but this is already the longest review of anywhere I've ever been so you can tell we really loved it. Post-script: I realized I hadn't brought enough t-shirts for the whole stay, so I bought one of theirs to get me through. It is high quality and comfortable, just like everything at Basalto.
