Absolutely great hotel! The breakfast was super fresh and delicious every morning. Restaurant Sal also served amazing food, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Due to an ear infection, I wasn't allowed to fly back home. The hotel staff were very understanding and helped us out by offering a few extra nights in the hotel while we sorted things out. We were really well taken care of. Highly recommended!
Perfect Vacation Spot! The hotel proved to be an excellent choice in every respect. The room was comfortable and spotless, the restaurant and bar offered great selections, and the wellness area provided real relaxation. Every member of the staff was polite, helpful, and attentive — it's clear that guest satisfaction is their top priority. Cleanliness, facilities, and surroundings all deserve a solid 5/5. We wholeheartedly recommend this place and will definitely return! Thank you!
Very conflicted on our stay here. The rooms were lovely, we had a sea view and were on the same level as the spa and the pool, absolutely brilliant. The cleaners were also very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was great too, the desk staff were helpful and there's multiple public transport options to get to Funchal and a free bus twice a day. Also nearby are many shops, including a shopping centre, lovely restaurants and of course the sea (look out for crabs and lizards!). However, there are some negatives, it didn't seem very child friendly, which is fine of course, just wish we had known in advance, lots of judgey looks from both other guests and staff as my younger sibling was playing in the pool (not splashing or even being loud). Trying to relax by the pool, all you could hear was building works, not very peaceful and made reading difficult. Food options were limited, I have issues with food, very fussy and obviously travelling with a child as well, we sort of just lived off of bread and butter whilst there (which was sometimes damp and cold, obviously not fully defrosted). Also, we are not a very rich family and travelling is expensive enough, without being charged 4.50 for a glass of water each with dinner every night, and being told we weren't allowed to bring in our own water bottles. Also whilst we were there, signs began to go up everywhere, no filling water bottles at breakfast, no taking food from out of the eating area (the day after our 9 year old took a slice of pizza to go, since our plates were already taken). The cleaning staff and some of the catering staff were lovely. However, some catering staff were rude and constantly watching guests, almost looking down on us. One even made a comment about my dinner saying "good appetite", i had a spoonful of pasta, some peppers, cucumbers and a bread roll? Made me feel rather uncomfortable. Overall, it was a lovely holiday but there is definitely room for improvement, I've worked in the service industry and hospitality, so this isn't me being a snooty karen, just put a bit of a damper on our trip, stressing us out and making us uncomfortable/unwelcome.
