I just arrived home from staying at the Hotel Beacon with family including two children. (6months and 4 years) and I could not speak more highly of this hotel. The crib was set up including sheet and blanket prior to our arrival. The room was spotless and the housekeeping staff was great. The next thing that was great is I set up the car service to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. Our pick up driver was waiting for us sent a picture on where to meet him and made it so easy. Drop off was also seamless. Every single person we came into contact with was so pleasant and kind. They had recommendations on where to eat and what to do in the city, and could help with any questions. Set up and transportation if needed. The doormen were always smiling and made you feel welcomed. This hotel is in a great location for children, there is a playground right up the street, a bus stop basically out side the hotel and a short walk to the subway station. It is in walking distance to Central Park and the Natural history museum. Overall, if you are planning a trip to NYC with kids and want a neighborhood feel and experience this is your place.
Wow! This was such a great hotel! I needed to be close to Washington Heights during my visit to NYC so I decided on Hotel Beacon since it’s on the 1 2 3 line. I needed a quiet room during the days I was there for a stressful exam and they gave me such a lovely and peaceful room with a beautiful view! I really liked the kitchenette which made my life easier because I could cook. The water pressure in the bathroom was great too. The neighborhood had so many food options in all price ranges (many bodegas with delicious, decently priced food and also upscale restaurants). And the best part of it all: the staff. They were so lovely and helpful, they were even cheering me on during the bar exam haha. I had to stay an extra day because my flight got canceled and they were so thoughtful and helpful. They even helped me get a private car service to JFK that was cheaper than uber since I had a bunch of bags. Thank you all for your hospitality and help! I will return and tell others about this lovely hotel!
We stayed for 2 nights with our 8 month old baby. Staff was fantastic and accommodating. Received an upgrade to a suite that allowed the baby to nap in the bed, and for us, to relax in the living room. Location is as good as it gets. Right next to Central Park for early morning strolls, in a neighbourhood that's full of great restaurants and coffee shops. Diner next door is perfect for breakfast. Although rooms are not modern, they are clean and practical, with lots of storage for luggage and clothes. Would 100% stay here again!
