Hotel Belmar

My wife and I agree on this - Hotel Belmar is the best hotel/resort we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. We’ve traveled to a couple dozen countries, and this is the best overall experience we’ve had. Everything offered is excellent and beats even our very-high expectations. We have no suggestions for making our stay better. The grounds and view are both gorgeous! The building and rooms are comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities. Every dish we tried at its three eateries each day was great - shoutout to Karla. The bartender even created a sangria for me on the first night though it wasn’t on the menu! The excursion we took (horseback riding) was unbelievably amazing and worth every cent and some - thanks, Jorge and Oscar. The hotel staff were friendly, answered every question with great insight, and anticipated our needs - thanks, Nohelia, Alonso and Guillermo. The best moment of all was our massage with Kati and Gloria. It was heavenly! Thank you, ladies. Again, we have no suggestions for making our experience any better and plan to return as soon as we can.

We absolutely loved our stay at Belmar. The rooms, the grounds, the aesthetics, all perfect. Our room was squeaky clean, the linens and bedding comfortable. Each building offers different amenities which we enjoyed, the juice bar was very good, the brewery has a wonderful menu, we tried many items and none disappointed. The Celajes restaurant for dinner was delicious, the farm to table aspect of Belmar really made our experience enjoyable. The staff was attentive and courteous, the views at the restaurant also very beautiful. The entire Hotel felt so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect getaway. The breakfast was by far one of the best breakfasts we've had in all of Costa Rica. We even loved the clean toiletries provided during our stay that we bought several to bring back home. I highly recommend this hotel and cannot wait to return! Shout-out to Eric for being so kind with us and Henry for always serving each dish with a smile, he was also very patient with our 3 year old. The guys at the brewery were always very friendly and the staff member at the juice bar was great. Overall 10/10!

I give the hotel a 4.5. The rooms were nice, kind of modern rustic vibe happening. The service was amazing. Katherine at the restaurant was superb. I forget the gentleman’s name who checked us in, he was also great. The food was excellent. The excursion we did to Monteverde cloud forest was very detailed with information on biodiversity of the forest. We didn’t see any animals. If you like biology then this may be a tour you will enjoy. If you’re not into that kind of thing then skip it and do another tour.
