This hotel maybe one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The view was incredibly beautiful. I’ve never seen such a stunning view before. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly. When I first arrived at the hotel, I loved it so much
We had a lot of issues with our room. We didnt have the lights stay on, they would constantly dim or flicker. We also didnt have any control of the temperature in the room, we tried to max out the temperature on the highest and lowest setting to see if it worked at all and it didnt. Our shower water was also pretty awful where it would take 3 minutes to not be ice cold and then it would randomly go from burning hot to ice cold every minute or so no matter what we did. We called reception and spoke to them a few times but they just shrugged us off saying its an "Eco friendly" building and that they are aware that temperatures may vary.
We had selected the Hotel Belvoir as a great location and view to end our two week European vacation. We stayed in multiple hotels through Switzerland, Austria and France. The restaurant was incredible, and the staff of the restaurant were amazing. However, after check-out, we left our passports, money and a few credit cards in our hotel safe in our locked room. After realizing this, we returned to the hotel expecting to have our passports in our passport wallet being held at the front desk or still in the safe. You cannot imagine our shock and surprise to find that they were stolen. The General Manager of the hotel was not much help, saying that the housekeeper found the safe empty in our locked room. The security personnel and the General Manager for the hotel were disappointing and lacked empathy or understanding of the deep personal impact for a theft of this magnitude. They called the Swiss or Zurich police, who were also not much help or support. The two "police" officers shared that we needed to go to the Police station at the Zurich airport to report the theft. Please be aware of this surprising incident if you are thinking of staying at this hotel. Warning - while this is a nice boutique hotel, do not trust the hotel housekeeping staff and beware of the safety and security of your room. We have heard of this type of crime being in other European countries or cities where your room safe was not "safe" or secure.
