Hotel Bencoolen at Hong Kong Street

We are family of 4, stayed early June this year for holiday. Love the friendliness of the staff, very helpful with so many information about what to do or places in singapore. Thank you for this! I like the room, very clean, stay in the loft room and our fav also is the shower, we had two shower 1 is upstairs and 1 in living room. Both great water pressure and hot water easy to control. There's many great amenities we got and many great facilities in the room like hairdryer, fridge, iron plus table, etc. Very nice location, i love clark quay so it's so nice to walk around and many restaurants or the view in the riverside nice to walk around. We enjoy this hotel overall, as simple as toast in the morning is somehow good quality of bread. Thanks bencoolen 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I recently stayed at this hotel in Singapore and overall had a pleasant experience. In terms of cleanliness, the hotel is well-maintained neat and tidy throughout my stay. However, I was a bit confused by the 4-star rating. While it’s advertised as a 4-star hotel, I’m not entirely sure if it meets the typical 4-star standards expected in Singapore. The breakfast was good, though the selection was somewhat limited not a lot of variety, but enough for a simple start to the day. One of the best things about this hotel is its location. It’s very convenient, with a bus stop and MRT station nearby, making it easy to get around the city.

Staff were cold and uninterested in answering questions upon check-in. Towels were threadbare. Toilet seat was not properly attached. Only allowed 1 pillow each. Loud fan/humming entire stay. For Singapore, the breakfast was very disappointing. Not sure how it earned 8.2 review on Agoda. Great location is the best asset. Great if used to hostels, but not for seasoned travelers.
