Hotel Birkenhöhe

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Easily one of the best hotels in this region—super-friendly staff, nicely located over the hill with easy access even for senior citizens, vintage style home decor with large windows and balcony on upper level floor bringing in cool fresh breeze, restaurant area (the kitchen and staff is of very high standard) with numerous food/beverage options! Parking available underground and on the hill.

We stayed at the hotel for a few days in summer and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel is nice, but not quite five stars – there are small shortcomings throughout. The rooms are decent but not top-notch, and the food is good, though not outstanding. In our opinion, the price for the room and meals is slightly too high for the overall quality offered. The layout is a bit confusing and not particularly accessible for those with mobility issues. However, the view from the terrace overlooking the mountains is absolutely fantastic. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
