The Blattlhof has a wonderful atmosphere. You get a very warm welcome from the family and staff. The service is perfect, the staff go out of their way to look after you. The food is excellent, with a 5 course dinner and good choice of breakfast foods and drinks. It has good sized comfortable rooms, with TV, Wi-fi, hairdryer and a safe. There is a sauna and heated locker room for skis and boots It is in a quiet location between Ellmau and Going, but it is not too isolated as both towns are very close together. There is a regular and efficient bus service which stops directly outside the hotel about every 30 minutes. The centre of Ellmau and Going, and the main ski lifts are about a five minute bus ride away and can be easily reached in 10 minutes on foot when you are not skiing. This is my 15th time at the Blattlhof, and I always bump into other returning guests every year. That is a good indicator of the number of very satisfied guests. It is a super hotel for families and those looking for a quiet, peaceful relaxing stay. The Skiwelt is a fantastic ski area offering 275km of extensive pistes, and this hotel is an ideal place to stay to enjoy your ski holiday there.
Very nice Austrian country style hotel at the start of a nice 1h hike to the Wilde Kaiser alp with heated outdoor pool and a relaxing well equipped wellness area, very friendly staff, great views and great local food.
A nice hotel in the fantastic village of Elmau. We stayed here with a bigger group and found it to be rather fun. The breakfast menu offers a sufficiently wide variety of food and I would consider it to be on the middle tier of hotels. Dinner is served as multi-course experience, and actually is suprisingly good for the amount of seating the hotel has to cater to. Most of the staff was really friendly (especially what I assumed was the head of service, who catered to our group to whom I want to give the credit for my very positive experience at this place). Hotel itself is a bit off the village, and if you are like me there to take hikes/walks around the area, you might find it hard to leave the parking lot, as you either have to cross the bussy road in front of the holte (of which you hear nothing in the rooms btw) or you have to walk down a small path, which unfortunately froze over at some point and was a bit less fun to walk down). All in all a nice stay and I would consider to rebook a room, if I find myself in this area again.
