Hotel BlueBay Banús

I’d read lots of mixed reviews around this hotel prior to going and I can certainly see why. It was reasonably priced compared with other hotels and is within walking distance of the beach. However, the hotel is in need of updating. The grass around the main pool was very worn (not sure why they don’t just tile it) and there was a shortage of umbrellas. However, we managed to find a spot around the second smaller pool which was less worn and quieter. Our room was spacious but rather outdated and two of our group spotted a cockroach in their rooms (which I can imagine is not uncommon for the time of year). We were lucky not to have a room by the main busy road. Overall, it served us well for our 4 day stay, and given the price was an affordable option for the time of year. But if you’re looking for a more modern or high spec hotel, I’d advise booking elsewhere.

I'm not sure where to begin. Let's start with the rooms. They were far from cozy, despite specifically requesting a garden view, we received a room overlooking the street. Throughout our stay, we constantly heard traffic noise, especially at night. Privacy was also an issue, as everyone could hear each other, even whispers. Regarding housekeeping, it was one of the worst experiences I've had. We stayed for a week and only received towel replacements twice, with the second time requiring us to request them. As for the food, we only had breakfast included, but it was the same every day—nothing varied or special. There was also a problem with parking. Although we paid 12 euros per day, we always had to go to the reception and ask them to open the gate, whether we were entering or leaving. They always asked for the receipt. Why not have someone stationed outside to open it for guests? Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before booking Hotel BlueBay Banus. Due to a medical emergency, I couldn’t travel on my original flight, but I contacted the hotel directly to inform them of my late arrival. They confirmed over the phone that this was absolutely fine and that my room would be available. However, shortly after, they cancelled my entire booking without warning and marked it as a “no-show,” despite already being told I’d be arriving late. When EasyJet Holidays contacted them on my behalf, they confirmed my booking was still valid , but when I rang the hotel again minutes later, they told me it was cancelled. Total contradiction. When trying to sort this with the hotel they have since refused all responsibility, claiming they didn’t get paid, while I’m left completely out of pocket for a holiday I fully intended to go on. The attitude and lack of accountability from this hotel have been absolutely shocking. There was zero compassion, zero transparency, and no willingness to help just blame-shifting and excuses. They are now just ignoring my email leaving me in the unknown. The lack of customer service has also been appalling trying to gas light me into thinking the phone call I have proof of never happened confirming my booking. This was not just an inconvenience; it was a complete loss of a holiday I paid for, during an already stressful time. I would never book here again, and I’ll be warning others to do the same.
