Absolutely beautiful hotel — honestly the best budget-friendly stay I’ve ever had! They even serve breakfast straight to your room with just a quick call. It’s about 15–20 minutes outside Tirana, which I think is ideal, since the city centre can be quite polluted and hard to breathe. Here, it’s peaceful, quiet, and calm. The hotel has great reviews on Booking.com, and now I see exactly why!
I had a lovely stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, which made the stay even more comfortable.Breakfast – absolutely delicious and with a great variety. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
I don’t normally leave reviews, but what happened to me at Hotel Bonsai was disturbing enough that I feel an obligation to warn others. While staying here, my passport mysteriously disappeared from inside my locked room. I had placed it clearly on the table. When I came back, it was gone. I tore the room apart in a panic. I confronted the owner, who acted passive and said something like, “Did you check properly?” And then magically the passport turns up under my mattress. Come on. That’s not something that just “falls” under a bed. It didn’t slide there. It didn’t jump off the table. Someone went through my belongings and moved it, and it’s insulting to be told otherwise. I felt completely violated. It’s one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had. There was no apology. No concern. No accountability. Just gaslighting. This is not just about a missing passport, it’s about trust, safety, and the very real risk of identity theft and fraud. I now have no way of knowing whether someone copied or scanned my passport. That information could be used at any time without my knowledge. The whole thing felt sketchy, staged, and highly suspicious. I am leaving this review anonymously for my own protection, because I frankly don’t feel safe putting my name next to it. But I need people to know as it ruined an engagement memory of mine. My husband went to a lot of effort to plan a wonderful holiday for us which was completely spoiled by the heartless owner. The staff handled the situation horribly. No professionalism. No basic human decency. This is the kind of place that makes you question whether your room is ever truly private. I would never return and I strongly urge others to be extremely careful or better yet, stay somewhere else entirely.
