Beautiful place and a fantastic view. Our room was like a small house, so cool! Nice restaurant, but make sure to make a reservation if you stay the night. They found room at the restaurant for us, but with our bicycles in the evening, it would have been difficult to bike to town for dinner. I’d love to visit this area again. The bicycling is fantastic
We booked this place based on the photos showing a spacious, fully equipped kitchen – perfect for a family with kids. In reality, the “kitchen” is just a small closet with a mini sink, two-burner stove, and barely any countertop space. Completely inadequate for a family with three children. When we raised the issue and asked to cancel, we were told the reservation was non-refundable. No understanding, no flexibility, no goodwill from the hosts. Just a cold response citing policy, without any concern for guest satisfaction. This place might be fine for a solo traveler who doesn’t plan to cook. But if you’re traveling as a family or expecting to prepare your own meals – avoid it. The photos are misleading and do not reflect the actual conditions. We will not return, and we do not recommend this place to anyone. — Edit: Important clarification regarding the situation and owner’s deleted response Shortly after we posted our honest review, the host published a public reply accusing us of being aggressive and offensive toward other guests. That reply has since been deleted by the host, which says a lot about its tone and accuracy. Let me clarify what really happened. We arrived expecting a proper kitchen as shown in the photos. Instead, we found a tiny kitchenette inside a closet — with a mini sink, two burners, and almost no usable space. This was completely inadequate for a family with three children. The photos and description referring to an “apartment with kitchenette” were clearly misleading. When we asked to cancel the booking, the host refused, saying the problem was ours. We then submitted a complaint to Booking.com. In response, the host sent us a threatening message, stating: “I urge you to stop defaming Podere Casato, or I will have to contact the relevant authorities.” This was not a polite clarification — it was a direct threat. And it is absolutely unacceptable, especially when directed at paying guests with children. We also discovered that the host overcharged us €32 for the local tourist tax instead of the correct €16. Only after requesting a receipt did the truth come out — but the host never returned the difference. Booking.com had to step in and refund us. This entire experience was marked by misleading advertising, a lack of accountability, and unprofessional communication. Even more disappointing was the attempt to publicly discredit us with false claims — then quietly remove them. We will not return, and we strongly advise others to be cautious before booking this place. ⚠️
We stayed at Agriturismo Podere Casato for 2x nights for a friends wedding, but unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. On arrival the receptionist was cold and unwelcoming. We had asked kindly if we would be able to arrive before check in and relax by the pool, but were told we could only come at 3.30pm due to insurance issues. The email correspondence was extremely abrupt. When we asked for pool towels we were told they would cost 5 euros each. When I challenged this, the receptionist was confrontational and rude which made my pregnant wife feel very uncomfortable. We paid 270 euros per night, no doubt inflated for the wedding. What a rip off. The pool was dirty, the air-conditioning did not work in the small room. And on arrival there were dirty towels strewn across the corridor. After complaining twice, the aircon was fixed. Breakfast was minimal and basic. You have to seat yourself and put out your own placemats and cutlery. The receptionist could see we were disappointed with our stay, so the one redeeming factor was deducting a few drinks from our final bill. A nice gesture that could have been avoided with a bit more care and kindness. We would not recommend.
