Hotel Burg Staufenberg

The Staufenberg is a very good hotel with an excellent staff. It's obvious that the bathrooms were extensively remodeled but the beds could be improved. The breakfast was one of the best on our trip and the wait staff, for both dinner and breakfast, probably have doctorates in their trade. They were in the background but waiting to assist at any opportunity. The front desk staff, I believe his name was Michael, helped to put my bike in a locked shed overnight and then informed us on the history of the castle later at dinner.

A wonderful experience. A friendly and stylish welcome. Amazing rooms with a stunning view across half-timbered houses. Amazing choices for breakfast that should satisfy anyone.

Review of Burg Staufenberg Our charming room was a suite up two flights of wide spiral stairs with a beautiful view out over the countryside. We had all modern conveniences within a picturesque old castle – parts of it dating from 13th century and parts from 15th century. Do not miss dinner in the Knights Celler dining room. Suits of armor and halberds and pikes in a beautiful vaulted ceiling celler room. There were real candles and flowers on the table.  My husband had the pork fillet in creamy herb sauce with mushrooms and noodle dumplings. It was amazing and I had the vegetarian choice which was asparagus ravioli with fresh buffalo mozzarella - equally delicious! Service was in German or English and very friendly. Breakfast was set in a cheery ground floor dining room with scrambled eggs, nurnberger sausages, pancakes, and lots of cold cuts and fruit, etc. We both enjoyed our stay very much.
