Hotel Bügelhof

Amazing stay in their luxurious rooms with our 2 kids (3.5 and 1.5 years). Quality materials everywhere and silent rooms (great isolation). Breakfast offers a lot of choice in the morning as well. Friendly staff always willing to help with any requests. Surroundings are amazing as well and ski elevator+ rental walking distance. Lounge bar + restaurant on-site.

Riddled with historic ski relics this is a nice place to stay and dine. The rooms are a bit dated and small by international standards but fairly standard by Swedish standards. The restaurant named Winter is fine and has a Bar on the 2nd floor. Prices are as you expect from any Ski Resort, a bit on the high side, but not exorbitant in my view. The Car park is about 100m from reception, which is a pain, but you can drive up to the front door to load and unload. Your room comes with a key to access the ground floor ski locker which also contains a drying cupboard.

My experience with this hotel started on a bad note but ended on a good one. The day we arrive the receptionist in the evening wasn’t welcoming. For some reason she completely ignored that we were two people and was only addressing things to one person which is not polite. Although every other receptionist during my stay was very kind and addressed both of us when we were in a conversation. I would give 4 stars for service The room was a nice warm and cozy place but it lacked a proper modern ventilation system which created problems during our stay. It was not possible for us to check the room temperature and we had to manually keep changing the radiator to guess the temperature by how we feel. Very disappointing for such a high class hotel and an expensive one. There isn’t even a temperature sensor in the room. At nights the room would become very dry and it was difficult to sleep. I would give 2 starts for the room The sauna and jacuzzi were a nice experience. I would definitely remember trying them out. I would give them 4 stars. Location 5 stars The restaurant was possibly the best experience living in this hotel. They made some really good food even though it’s a little pricey but it’s worth it. The reindeer dish was amazing. The meat was so well made. The desserts were also great. I would give 5 stars for the restaurant. On a whole I would say the hotel is good but for the price not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to someone who expects a premium living experience for the premium price they charge. Although it is a good option if you want something with easy access to ski slopes, a few stores and restaurants. If you are willing to pay the premium.
