We have just returned from Cap Salou and the Cala Font, and we could not have been more pleased with this Hotel and the overall area. This is the second year we have been here and we were concerned that it would not be as good as last year's trip, but have to say it was brilliant. They have now opened a roof terrace with a small pool, which is very exclusive (you have to pay extra €10 per person) but it is well worth it - the only criticism of this is that there is absolutely no shade but it has a very nice bar area and is extremely comfortable. The beaches here are excellent and they are well maintained and Cala Font has a lifeguard. Overall we will be booking to go again. Thank you Cala Font
The Cala Font Hotel is beautiful. Much better than we imagined. Very stylish entrance and reception. Great pool and beach basically at the edge of the hotel. Lovely food which is different every day, some dishes may not be to your taste but there's so much on offer something will definitely appeal. Drinks are also reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. Just a couple of things to be aware of. If you are taking an early flight to Spain, as we did from Gatwick, we arrived at the hotel at 11am but our room wasn't available until 3pm, so travel in shorts, pack some sun cream and head for the pool until your room is ready, a locked room is available for your luggage. Other thing to be aware of, is on the beach, it was beautiful and the sea so clear and warm but 2x loungers and an umbrella cost €30, very expensive and nothing to do with the hotel. The guy even came back later asking to see our tickets and then said they were invalid, but when I told him I wasn't moving and not paying anymore money he went away. But if you are coming to Cala Font Hotel, Salou, you are in for a treat.
I can’t say this hotel deserves 4 stars; I would give it no more than 3. The staff was very friendly, and the food was extremely tasty and fresh. However, the rooms are quite expensive, and if you don’t specifically request a sea view in advance, you might get a room overlooking some unkempt bushes. You have to pay extra for a sea view. I don’t mind paying more, but the price didn’t justify the quality because the rooms were not cleaned well. The balcony door in our ground-floor room wouldn’t lock properly—it was broken. The beds were made every day, but the sheets were never changed, even though we hung a “please clean” sign on the door. Towels and trash bins were replaced daily, but eight days in the same sheets didn’t feel right. After one cleaning, my cigarettes disappeared from the balcony, though no other personal items were touched. Otherwise, the food, bar, games, and evening entertainment were all excellent. The reception is open 24/7, which is great for late flights like ours. P.S. More frequent sheet changes would have been better.
