Hotel Camino del Mar

We went there on the 1st of February for one week. This was our first time going to Cuba and we were really scared from the stories we heard about bad food or rooms not being the best at times, specially seeing this place did not have any reviews here, BOY WE WERE SURPRISED! From the moment we stepped in the room, it was CLEAN! The cleaning staff went above and beyond when cleaning our room and even left rose petals on our bed seeing it was our honeymoon!!! The chefs knew we did not eat pork and cooked our meals separately, and also, made spicy food for us seeing we liked it spicy!! The entertainers are the best people you will meet! Shout out to Alex and Daniel the entertainers, they’ve become our friends now! Talia the guest services manager is so sweet and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Coffee bar attended Kevin and Cristian are the most jolly guys you’ll ever meet. This is a hidden gem, I’m so happy I went before it gets really popular! Will be back soon again.

Had such an amazing experience here! Especially my first time in Cuba - I’ve heard so many pros and cons. There were no issues here for us! The place used to be called the Melia, but recently got bought out and the name has changed. We were nervous cause there were no reviews at all - and thank goodness we were surprised how beautiful, well kept and great the people are. For someone who eats halal, one of the chefs made sure to prepare our food separate from the meats (pork, beef and chicken). There’s always fresh fish and food is plenty. Not everything will be perfect, but the people here are so kind and will help you out no matter what, treat you like family. I would definitely come back to this same resort because of the treatment I received, the food and service. Also, the best beach I’ve ever seen! You’re a 10 min ride away from Play Pilar as well, best beach in the Caribbean!

Camino Del Mar, previously Melia Cayo Guillermo Re opended in dec 2024. Staff is amazing, beach and pool are fabulous. Rooms are clean, food is good but limited as expected for Cuba. Still needs to work out some points but getting there.
