The check-in was smooth and easy. The desk clerks were super helpful and pleasant. The only odd thing we had happen was a maid trying to come into our room at 8AM while we're were all asleep. She said she was going to check the room. This was weird to us. It was so early for her to be trying to check rooms. Other than that, it was an awesome place to stay and decorated beautifully! Beds were SUPER comfortable and rooms were a great size with everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at Hotel Captain Cook twice during our trip to Alaska - at the beginning of our trip and at the end of our trip. You really can't beat the location downtown, it's the perfect walking distance to everything you could need and it has great restaurants, shopping, and amenities right at your doorsteps. Our first stay we were put in a room in tower 3. The room itself was fine - nothing fancy. Only complaint was that the bathroom was pretty outdated and difficult to maneuver around in: very small. The water pressure was also pretty weak. However, our second stay was outstanding. We really lucked out with having a beautiful corner room in tower 2 facing the water, and I was shocked with how different, updated, and beautiful the bathroom was. A completely different room experience. If you are able, definitely request or proactively book one of these rooms. They are the best of the best! Taking everything into consideration, I highly recommend staying here during your visit to Anchorage. Between the prime location, on site amenities, and good rooms (if you get one!), it makes for a great stay!
Everything was great! Great, except for the things I'll point out here what was the name of. Fletcher's was good food but was very crowded and a long way. The internet at this hotel was very poor. Maybe 5 GB per second. Overall, it was a very good experience, but I figured I'd just point out the negatives, since there were fewer of them
