Hotel Carlton

The beautiful hotel is in a perfect position for visiting Lille, right at its centre. The bedroom was spacious with comfortable beds and had tall, opening windows that looked out over a quietly busy street leading into one of the main squares. The breakfasts were delicious, service friendly and professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again and have already recommended it to friends.

A nice welcome to the hotel on arrival. Able to check in 30 minutes early, which was great. Nice decor and atmosphere to reception. Lovely staff. Room (409) quite big with view of the square and opera house. Nice comfortable bed. Good soundproofing. Never heard any noise in the night from outside or inside the hotel. Coffee machine available with 4 pods for one night. Overall a pleasant stay.

Hotel needs some Tlc, perhaps the 4star needs to be revisited, I would say in the past it would of met the standard, but now off the mark 😏 found staff rude and please be aware that there is an additional €200 down payment on top of the prepaid price of the hotel invoice for the stay. Unsure what it is for : mini bar etc, I did not use any, and the question wasn’t even ask on departure whether I did or didn’t, no toiletries thrown in, we have stayed in plenty of hotels in Europe 3star and 4star and even 5star and the standard of customer care and standard of care was not what we received. On the positive note, the location was great
