I recently stayed at Hotel Casa Amsterdam with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday, and overall, we had a fantastic experience. Our room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. The hotel staff went above and beyond to help me surprise my girlfriend with flowers and a gluten-free brownie in the room — a particularly thoughtful gesture as she is coeliac, and it made her birthday feel even more special. A special mention to Holland at reception, who checked us in and out. She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable — a real credit to the hotel. The baristas were also excellent, serving us lovely coffee (on the house!) and accommodating small off-menu requests with no fuss at all. The only downside to our stay was our experience at the hotel restaurant for the birthday dinner. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a long time to place our order, and the waitress didn’t seem confident when it came to allergen knowledge — which is particularly important given my girlfriend’s dietary needs. Our meals also arrived at very different times, so we weren’t able to enjoy dinner together as we’d hoped. That said, the rest of our stay was truly enjoyable, and the hospitality from most of the staff more than made up for the restaurant mishap. We’d happily return and recommend Hotel Casa to others — just with a bit of caution around the dining experience.
My friends and I stayed at Hotel Casa Amsterdam at the end of June for just under 1 week. The rooms were clean and the location was great - very easy to get around via public transport. Alec from the front desk team was fabulous! He gave us food recommendations and was always so polite and personable. He and his colleague (sorry I didn't get their name) assisted me with storing some temperature sensitive medication in a private fridge, which I am super grateful for. Despite no air conditioning, a fan was provided and was generally more than enough for when we were in the rooms (usually just to sleep at night). Thanks so much for a great stay!
Beautiful hotel, everything worked well. The food and drink options within the hotel were satisfactory. I enjoyed the self-service fridges on the bottom floor a lot for convenience's sake. The view from the garden/restaurant balcony was great. The receptionist was polite and professional, same as the other hotel staff. Unfortunately, I visited during a heatwave and since the room I stayed in had a window spanning the whole room, the window DOESN'T open more than 5 cm AND there is no airconditioning due to their sustainability model, the air and temperature within were unbearable. I appreciate the idea of being sustainable, but this was just absolutely ruining the stay for me. I couldn't sleep at night, sweated the whole time and had to take frequent breaks on the bathroom floor. The provided fan did not help much. I assume that if I visited at a different time, it'd be much better, but this has severely impacted my comfort. It is also a nice sustainability idea to donate out of whatever water is spent in the shower...but I think the amount of showers I took did more environmental harm than good. If you see this, PLEASE at least consider the option for guests to change the room temperature by more than two degrees...
