Hotel Casa Turire

From the entry lined with majestic palms to the gardens, pool and rooms. Everything is wonderful and staff look after all the details. Highly recommend if staying in the Highlands.

We went for a beautiful dinner here and wandered the building a bit. The atmosphere was beautiful with stunning decor and details. They had art displayed and coffee, merchandise and chocolate for sale. The dinner was incredible. Everything was perfectly cooked, decadent and delicious. Our server, Aaron, was fantastic, attentive and welcoming. Jana, the manager was lovely and warm. We chatted with her about the tours and classes available including Yoga, which she teaches. The front desk receptionist, Adrienna, was sweet, friendly and had a fabulous sense of humour. Overall an incredible experience for dinner and I can't wait to return and check out their tours.

Unfortunately, what everyone else wrote about this hotel is true. It really should be closed for full renovations and not accept any guests until everything is redone. I’m sure it was a great property 30 years ago, but now it’s just old and dirty. Very old. The food is average for the price. It’s hard to find anyone at the reception in the afternoon. Our room was dirty, the shower was clogged, no Wi-Fi in the room, and as a bonus, you can hear everything from the restaurant and reception—not to mention people playing billiards late into the night. Awful. Easily the worst hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica. The garden is beautiful and the property does have character, but honestly, it’s better suited as a museum stop, not a place to spend the night.
