This place it's a real experience. The rooms are unique huts 🛖 . Easy access to the lagoon with daily paddle board or kayak use unlimited daily. They have a restaurant that provides breakfast every morning, their menu is very limited but you can customize it if needed. The employees are amazing always available to help, they have a WhatsApp number where you can text anytime and they will response right away for questions, concerns or suggestions. (Be aware of critters, you will find them inside your room. 🕷️🐸🪳🐛🕸️ 🦟) they have 3 piers to access the lagoon with steps. The maracuyá smoothie from the bar is the bes! Very fresh and sweet. You can buy your own inflatable donuts in town and use them in the lagoon, pets are welcome. The moonrise every night is an awesome experience from the main pier, so don't miss it. They also offer their own tours in Sail and Jetski. Don't miss out on this place. We had a garden view room with a king size bed and our own restroom. However if you can get a room facing the lagoon it's totally worth it. Ah and before I forget they have a massage location in front of the water which makes this an even better experience!
We stayed at Casa Bakal for just one night on our way to Belize, but we instantly wished we had booked more time—it was absolutely beautiful. Walking onto the property felt like stepping into a dream. The photos don’t come close to capturing the vibrant colors and clarity of the water. The staff was warm and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious. But the highlight of our stay was the sailing tour with Emmanuel and Alejandro. They were so kind, fun, and knowledgeable—they truly made the experience unforgettable. (Give those guys a raise!) We’ll definitely be recommending Casa Bakal to our friends—especially the sailing tour!
Hotel with room for improvement. The rooms and facilities needs maintenance. The furniture in the rooms but also in the restaurant, poolside and lake site are very outdated. The first impression is always the best and the chairs outside the room are definitely not helping to get a good impression. The chairs at the poolside and beds on the lake are very old and not comfortable. We asked for clean swim towels and there where not available. There were not enough cups for tea and jus available during the breakfast. Service is slow (20 minutes waiting time for a cocktail is too long) in the moment of our stay the hotel was not fully occupied. I believe there’s much more opportunity to upgrade this hotel with some simple investments.
