Hotel Casablanca Imperial

The hotel is in a beautiful historic building and very very well located for people wanting to explore the tourist spots (it is practically wall-to-wall with the Museu Imperial) and enjoy the city. The staff is quiet, very low profile, but polite, helpful and efficient. I would say the common areas are not very cosy, though, especially in the winter. It is more a place to overnight. The rooms are spacious, and the shower was very good, but unfortunately the room I stayed in was not the best: it had a weird low window and lacked natural light. And as it is basically a stand-alone unit, it was quite cold (no heating). There was a varied breakfast and convenient parking.

The hotel was a bit disappointing to us because the room didn't match the pictures we saw on booking.com. instead of staying in the old colonial building we're staying in a converted poolhouse. That being said its a nice and comfortable hotel with all the needed amenities.

Very very dated rooms, probably rate it a 2 star. Was extremely disappointed and the bed definitely had bed bugs. Pretty cold in the rooms. There was a leak so all I could hear all night was the dripping.
