Hotel Castellino was the perfect choice for our stay in Rome. The location could not have been better, right in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance to all the major attractions. The Colosseum was especially close and we loved being able to explore so much of Rome on foot. The rooms were spacious, beautifully presented and wonderfully quiet, offering a welcome retreat after busy days exploring. The service was truly impeccable. When my daughter accidentally left her Apple Watch behind, the hotel contacted us immediately to arrange its return, a level of honesty and care that speaks volumes. Breakfast each morning was varied and delicious and the staff even made my daughter a lovely iced coffee which she adored. The area around the hotel came alive at night with vibrant nightlife and even a live violinist performing nearby, adding to the magic of our evenings. Hotel Castellino exceeded our expectations in every way. We will absolutely return on our next trip to Rome and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, charm and exceptional service.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the hotel's location in Piazza Venezia is ideal, providing convenient access to essential amenities and tourist attractions. However, the room fell short of expectations; its appearance did not match the online Booking.com photos, despite paying extra for a superior room. Furthermore, there was a security incident where another guest was able to access our room using their key card. The rooftop garden offers pleasant views and is conveniently located above the breakfast area; however, it lacks service, requiring guests to bring their own beverages. The hotel's restaurant is overpriced and should be avoided; charging €18 for a beer is unacceptable. Finally, the rooftop jacuzzi, while available to all guests, was unfortunately out of service during our stay.
This hotel isn’t a four star as advertised - the tourism board probably made a mistake! This is a two star establishment. Booked from booking having looked at pictures and imagined this would be a nice place. Upon arrival it was a disappointing revelation. Bathroom was dirty with hair around, no hot water to shower and minimal water pressure. It wasn’t any resemblance to the pictures posted at all! Misleading. Staff was very friendly, and location is good. Nothing else is nice.
