Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa

Probably one of the most difficult things about traveling, especially internationally is my American Love of really thick comfortable mattresses. So when determining where to stay, we usually go with the traditional American chains to ensure comfort, or the ultra luxury beginning at over $1,000 US per night. This hotel has changed the game. While I was all in as soon as I sat on the mattresses. I quickly became enamored with the people and the environment. I have traveled many places as part of my career and pleasure and I have stayed in some really incredible locations. I must say that this hotel is one of my top three in the world. But If I factor in the cost… the Chais Monnet & Spa is at the top of the list. Also, the food is Magnifique! The fact that my French is nonexistent, was never an issue. Their staff is so well trained in the finery associated with service, which extends to their ability to communicate in English. I was flattered. They even accommodated my attempt at speaking French. The location is wonderful and as we got to know Cognac and the lovely surrounding villages, there’s so many things to see. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Staying here, as we were making a decision about buying a home in the area, sealed the deal. We laugh because although we’re excited about our new home, we will absolutely be coming here once a month just because the environment is so incredible.

Regrettably only stayed 1 night. Fantastic hotel in a great location. Reception 1st class. rooms (bedding, mattress, furnishing, bathroom) very good. Rooftop bar amazing. Will be back for a longer stay and to explore the area

A genuinely stunning hotel! We had a standard room which was very large and neutral. The brasserie food is fantastic and much better than we expected. The roof terrace is a must for a drink and the swimming pool is a top place to relax. Definitely going to return!
