Absolutely lovely hotel in a small town of cobbled streets in Celerina in Switzerland. The room was comfortable with a small balcony and a bathroom. The staff were friendly and attentive with continental and English breakfast served either in the restaurant or on a terrace. The hotel and town are surrounded by beautiful mountains and fields with a river babbling past the hotel garden whilst having a cool drink.
Charming boutique hotel with very comfortable rooms that are well appointed. No air conditioning. Breakfast was above average. 10 minute drive to St.Moritz in a quiet location
On the plus side, location is good/ breakfast & dinner staff pleasant & mattress good. Value for money is not a concept the region is familiar with, so don’t expect the food to be as good as the prices would suggest, but at par with other restaurants around - not many to choose from anyway. One rather unethical point though - they promote their beef when selling guests the half board option, but one can never have the beef in half board option, because they let you choose only the smallest cut (im)possible! and it is never available. Should the hotel respond to say it is available and you are ever around, check for yourself. The board never has 150 cut, which is allowed in half board, but starts at 170 and even that is always crossed out, by the time they open the restaurant for dinner. Reception staff mostly clueless, one young girl (Alissia?) seems to be the only one fit for a customer-facing position. BUT, the deal-breaker is that the rooms are dirty - the bathroom definitely so. Housekeeper was rather nice, so I assume the hotel management is saving on cleaning products/ hours. No Aircon and not even a kettle in the room - even b&bs have kettles. But perhaps it is better they did not encourage drinking tea in the room - given hotel’s poor hygiene.
