What I found better than in other hotels: - extreme competent reception desk employees - nice braekfast service-personnel - nice room - we received an upgrade. Was clean with nice products (soap, etc.) and soft towel and comfortable bed and blankets. I had an excellent sleep - great location
Definitely not a 4-star experience anymore This hotel may have had 4 stars back in the 1970s, but today it barely deserves 2. The room had a strong smell of mold, and the air conditioning unit clearly hasn’t been cleaned in years — dusty, noisy, and unhealthy. Breakfast was very poor, with limited and low-quality options. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Disappointing overall. Needs serious renovation and better management to meet even basic expectations.
DO NOT PROCEED ON BOOKING THIS HOTEL. It’s the WORST Accomodation I’ve ever lived in. It’s totally a scam. If you see this review, you’re lucky — do NOT proceed with the reservation. I’m not even joking, they will absolutely scam you. I booked a room at the Continental Hotel based on the photos and description, but what I got was completely different. The room was way smaller than shown, one of the lights was broken, there was NO bathtub as advertised, and instead of one bed, I was given two separate single beds — like a dormitory. It felt misleading and honestly like a scam. The WiFi is weak as if it doesn’t exist. The breakfast was not good either, it’s composed of some cheap foods that only make you full. To make matters worse, the older man with lots of grey hair at the front desk was not helpful at all and had tried to humiliate me. He even seemed to be trying to hide documents from me when I asked for clarification. The attitude and service were just as disappointing as the room. It actually destroyed my mood for traveling to Venice. I really hope Booking.com investigates this listing. Be careful — you deserve better.
