Hotel Corallo offers a great location if you want to stay close to Taormina without being in the middle of the busy (and pricey) city center. We really appreciated how easy it was to find parking right in front of the hotel, and the 24-hour reception and bar were definitely a plus. The pool area is a highlight — beautifully maintained with stunning views. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. That said, while the hotel is rated 4 stars, it’s best not to expect luxury. The rooms are quite basic, and the bathrooms could use an update. One downside for us was that our room was located directly below the breakfast area, so we were woken up around 6 a.m. by the noise from breakfast preparations. Also worth noting: if you plan to visit the center of Taormina, be prepared for a steep 25-minute uphill walk or a taxi ride that costs around €20. Overall, Hotel Corallo is a solid choice for travelers looking for a convenient, clean, and welcoming place to stay, with a few compromises on comfort and accessibility.

We wanted to spend a day in Taormina, so we decided to stay here for one night. At €180 for a night in a 4-star hotel, we expected a certain level of comfort unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. To start with the positives: the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and well-maintained, and the room itself was also clean. The location is okay not very close to the center (which has its pros and cons), but not ideal for going to the beach either due to a busy road and train tracks. Now for the downsides: the bed was hard, the pillows were flat, and the air conditioning barely worked. There were mosquitoes everywhere, and the bathroom could really use some renovation. The worst part was how noisy it was, we were woken up at 6 AM by loud footsteps and shouting, mostly from the cleaning staff. Lastly, the breakfast was far from what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. Overall, it was an okay stay, but definitely not worth €180 a night, and certainly not up to 4-star standards.

I find it hard to believe it’s a 4 star hotel, doesn’t have a restaurant, or bar. The breakfast is really bad, nothing tastes good, not what you would expect from Italy. Uneven pillows, aircon doesn’t work in the rooms. Mosquitoes and flies came from the air conditioning when I had it turned on, you can see this from pictures below. The hotel is in desperate need of upgrades, it seems like it hasn’t had any work done on it in 50 years. I booked in for 6 nights, but I left after 3, I tried to get refunded from the hotel, but they would not do this. The walk to Taormina centre is an extremely tough uphill climb, not made for people that are not. It is not a beachfront hotel, you can see the sea from the hotel, but you have to cross a very busy road and train tracks to get there
