Hotel Corps de Garde

Had a lovely Sunday morning breakfast at Hotel Corps de Garde in Groningen. We didn’t stay overnight, but we were welcome to join for breakfast. The bistro is beautifully and tastefully decorated; stylish yet cozy. The breakfast was fresh and delicious: table service for coffee just how you like it, and your choice of a perfectly cooked egg (fried, scrambled, omelet, or eggs Benedict). Freshly baked rolls, a great selection of meats, cheese, and salmon, plus a buffet with yogurt, fruit, and granola. Super relaxed vibe and very friendly staff. All of this for just €21.50 - great value. Highly recommended for a perfect start to your day!

I stayed here in May 2025 for a few nights for business and had a great stay. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly!

Fiona was very understanding and communicative even before we arrived, which was late in the evening to ensure our check in went smoothly, which it did. I would say that, that in its self is evident of her superb customer service skills and when we finally did meet her in person she was warm and inviting. The area is very, very safe and our room overlooked the canal. The room was spotless and modern with touches of history, comfy beds, coffee, mini fridge with water. The stairs are unique and steep! Loved the hand written note welcoming us by name, that was a nice touch. We did not stay for breakfast but would definitely return to this hotel again! Thank you!
