I had an amazing stay at Hotel Cosmopolitan Bologna. The staff were honestly incredible — super friendly, helpful, and really went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. They even called me after I accidentally left my phone behind, which I really appreciated. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, exactly what you hope for when traveling. The food at the hotel was excellent too, and the prices were more than fair for the quality you get. Another huge plus: the internet was super fast, around 350 Mbps, which was perfect for streaming, work calls, and everything else. Plus, most of the staff spoke English, which made everything so much easier. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!
We stayed in room 011 which is on the ground floor for a night, on June 27, 2025. Room and bathroom were clean. Breakfast was ok. Staff are kind and helpful. It has a free outdoor parking and paid underground parking (5 €). It takes 15 min. to reach the old town by taxi and costs 20 €. Overall, the hotel is a great value for money.
It would take a good amount of imagination to call Cosmopolitan a hotel. There are no reception and no front desk, so one must self check in. My room was extremely barren and the little furniture (the bed especially) was cheap. The blinds were perpetually down on my window with no option to pull them up, so there was no natural light. There was also no fridge. The bathroom sink was so small, it had no room for my small bag with a toothbrush and some face cream. There also was no breakfast. Room entertainment consisted of logging into Netflix with your own credentials… It is obvious from the layout that the rooms used to belong to one or two apartments that were converted into a “hotel.” For this reason, the walls are very thin, and one can hear conversations going on in the next room. For all these reasons, you could perhaps call this place an AirBnB, except that AirBnBs usually offer more amenities for a considerably lower price. I would not recommend this accommodation. it advertises as a hotel but the only thing that qualifies it as such is the expensive nightly rates.
