Hotel is in a good location in the shopping street. There are metro and tram nearby. Hotel has a good style of decorating and clean in the main hall. Staff is kind. Spa is really good with a lot of choices but it isn’t included in the room cost. However, I must complain that our room isn’t clean well during stay, there are dusty and hair on the floor. Water is only provided for a bottle at the first day. We didn’t find a lot of choices for breakfast.
We stayed at Worldhotel Cristoforo Colombo for 3 nights. The location is excellent — very central with easy access to public transport, shops, and dining. The room was small but clean, which is quite standard for a city like Milan. The reception area is spacious and smells lovely, creating a great first impression. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when it came to arranging taxis and offering local recommendations. However, a few things let the experience down. Despite the hotel being a 4-star and charging €300 a night, there was no complimentary water in the room upon check-in, and no daily replenishment even after housekeeping. When we requested water, we were told we could use the paid bottles in the minibar, or had to call more than once for someone to bring it up — not ideal at this price point. Also, being located on a main road meant that outside noise, as well as sounds from the hallway, were very noticeable. Overall, it’s a convenient and pleasant enough place to stay, but for the price and star rating, we expected a little more attention to guest comfort
We had a terrible experience with the hotel staff during our stay. Our room keycards were deactivated as soon as it was time for us to checkout. This prevented us from being able to take the elevator down to the lobby which is absolutely silly, by the way. To add insult to injury, I asked one of the hotel staff members on our floor for help and she refused to do so. She pretended she did not understand what we were saying but knew exactly what I was asking. She just did not feel like helping us which is very unfortunate. This ruined our entire stay in this hotel. I wish the management team would take firm action against this staff member because she is not qualified to work in the hospitality industry, period.
