Best relation quality/price in sicily Very good breakfast Staff very nice and helpful. Helped us finding a good tour to see sciara del fuoco and a scooter Beachfront hotel with great view to the aeolian islands It could more clean, but good space Our room was missing a fridge
Place was good, roofterrase absolute stunning! Stayed 2 nights with family og 4, two teenagers. Location was fairly out of center with only 2 restaurants in walking distance. But buses ran regularly for only 1, 55 euro, 10 km, but stop at around 8pm. We left our rental car in milazzo, since the travelinformation was inconsistent ; need to stay 7 nights on high season to bring rental car. Later discovered that august was high season. Anyway fun to exceperience Lipari!
Hotel Cuti Mare is located in Acquacalda which is 20mins away from Lipari Town Center. There are 2 or 3 restaurants and a "beach" that is just a long narrow strip. We were really disappointed by the location since there is nothing there. Unfortunately I can't say that it was worth staying in the area for the Hotel. The Hotel is definetely overpriced and not at all what it seems like on the website. It's interesting that their website is very well organized and you assume you’re booking a Hotel that has very professional staff but we were very disappointed when we arrived at Cutimare. We tried to book a Taxi through the Hotel, and the receptionist asked us to call them 30min before we arrive at the port so they can organize our cab but when we tried to call 30min before we arrived in Lipari on the ferry, the phone line of the Hotel was not available. On the website the Hotel looks fresh and new but they don't show the pictures of the front of the Hotel where there are parts that have not been renovated, it looks like it doesn't belong to the Hotel but it is definitely a part of the Hotel. Our room was ok, we stayed for 3 nights and didn’t plan on being in the Hotel a lot. The room was cleanish (not super clean as I would expect from a 4 Star Hotel) and you could tell that the interior was not new. For example the sides of the showers or the sink, toilets were dirty and old, full of chalk etc. The interior of the room was pretty basic. What I did like about our room was the big balcony (bigger than the room). The view on the "rooftop" terrace was nice and they offer an aperitivo for the sunset. Breakfast setting was very chaotic and loud. Due to corona restrictions the guest weren't allowed to touch the buffet, so the staff (1 person) served you at the buffet. The breakfast buffet had fruits, pastries, cold cuts....just the basics. The website offeres their guest the option to have breakfast in the room and so we did ask to have our breakfast in the room, which was overwhelming for the staff they seemed confused and didn’t know how to prepare it so we had to choose our food at the buffet and take it up to our room ourselves, which is not a problem but I expect more from a 4 star Hotel. I felt like the staff was trying their best but most of them are simply NOT trained or permanent employees. They work in the hotel as part of their stay in Lipari so they earn some money (this was explained to me by one of the workers at the Hotel) We payed 140 Euros a night for this Hotel (which is not a lot compared to other 4 star Hotels, but its overpriced for what you get here and also for the location. I would not stay st Cuti Mare again because I think there are other options for this price in Lipari. Cuti Mare needs to be more transparent and not upsell their Hotel. If they adjust their prices it could be a good 3 Star Hotel for families that want to stay in a quiet area.
