Hotel De Lagom

Kathy from customer service truly saved our arrival in Vietnam after a gruelingly long journey from Europe. Thanks to her and her team, this hotel easily deserves a five-star rating. The smoothies, cocktails, egg coffee, salted coffee, and fresh spring rolls at the rooftop bar are all highly recommended. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with excellent beds for a great night’s sleep. One of the hotel’s biggest assets is its central location in Hanoi, close to everything we needed—including street food, Train Street, a SIM card shop, and several ATMs. It’s the perfect base for exploring beautiful Hanoi. Be sure to follow the hotel’s restaurant recommendations—they were spot on!

I recently stayed at Hotel de LAGOM in Hanoi, and what first caught my eye was its feature in the Michelin Guide’s official hotel selection—and it absolutely lived up to that standard. Tucked away in the Old Quarter, it felt like a hidden pocket of calm amidst the buzz of the city. The entire space is designed with a soft, minimalist aesthetic—Scandinavian tones, warm lighting, and thoughtful details that make it feel instantly relaxing. My room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully done in a way that felt both elevated and homey. Mornings by the rooftop infinity pool were serene, and evenings at their restaurant De Spice were a quiet highlight, with city views and beautifully plated food. But what really made the experience special was the warmth of the staff—attentive, kind, and always ready to help without ever being intrusive. If you’re someone who appreciates quiet luxury, calming design, and genuine hospitality, Hotel de LAGOM is a place you’ll remember long after you leave.

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel de Lagom in Hanoi. The air conditioning in both the room and lobby was very comfortable, the rooms were beautifully decorated and cozy, the location is excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. English communication at the reception was also very good. However, there were a couple of small issues. One evening, room service spoke to us in Vietnamese for about three minutes, even though we kindly indicated we could not understand. After that, they knocked on our door five times in 30-second intervals, which became quite annoying. We eventually had to call the lobby to resolve the situation. The pool area also had only five sun loungers available, and the pool itself was not very deep (maximum 1.6 m). At checkout, the staff addressed our concerns, showed understanding, and sincerely apologized. They even gave us a package of coffee as a gift, which we really appreciated. Despite the minor inconveniences, we would gladly stay here again and thank the team for the open and friendly conversation at the end of our stay.
