This is the most pleasant hotel experience I've had so far. Before choosing this hotel, I spent time carefully researching the other options in the area. All of them had a good amount of recent negative reviews - except for this hotel. Wanting the ease of a clean room and smooth stay, I picked this hotel. And I was incredibly satisfied. The staff was very kind. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection, including options for vegans. The room was great. It was clean, new, and spacious. I opened the closet and it still smelled like new wood. There are only a few rooms per floor, so the floors and dining room felt peaceful and cozier than bigger hotels. They upgraded our rooms without mentioning this. I was in the area because of hospital appointments and it is just a 3 minute walk to the hospital. Having such a comfortable hotel experience while in the area for the hospital, it actually felt like a nice getaway. We will stay here again next time.
The room had good facilities and was quite spacious. with a soundproof wall and tea- and coffee-making facilities and free parking. Cons: The air conditioning is probably just a fan blowing air; it doesn't really work. Our room was so warm at night that we needed to take the duvet out before we went to sleep. The next day, our room was not cleaned by the housekeeping, so the bin was not emptied and the tea and coffee were not refilled. Only 1 clean towel set for 2 people and 1 roll of toilet paper were left outside the door (is this how a 4-star hotel treats its guests?). The breakfast was adequate, but there was only one staff member in the kitchen who had to do everything. She had to refill the milk in the coffee machine and run back to the kitchen to cook the scrambled eggs, and because there was no one else to clear the dirty plates and clean the table, I had to clean up every crumb left on the table by another guest myself. There are technicians working in the hotel who eat their (self-brought) breakfast in the breakfast room and read the newspaper, together with other guests. That is rather strange, because most hotels have a staff room where the staff can eat their food and not together with the guests. In a word: I do not expect this from a 4-star hotel.
Despite being a 4-star hotel, they don’t even provide a single complimentary water bottle, which is disappointing given the high prices. In contrast, NH Hotels maintain standards that truly reflect their 4-star status.
