Hotel Del Dique

I can only speak to the restaurant, since we did not sleep here. The food is excellent and so is the service. The trout is served fresh from the lake, in lemon caper butter sauce. The view is beautiful. Absolutely worth the detour from Salta to Cafayate. Our waiter Franco took great care of my family.

We were disappointed. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here at all. The hotel only lives from it's location near the lake and had its best years probably 20 years ago. Everything is old, damaged and worn out. The morning meal is very limited (no eggs or at least nothing was offered to us), the mini golf course is totally overgrown and not usable, the pool is dirty (as are the pool towels), in our room the only socket near the bed was hanging out of the wall (dangerous), the room door was stuck and as a highlight our key card didn't work on the last day. They also want to charge you as a foreigner the 21% VAT when you pay with Mastercard, which is not correct. The only reason I don't give one star is because the gentleman in the restaurant was extremely friendly and helpful.

bed bugs!!! got bites all over after one night proven that it’s bed bugs by doctor in Salta ^ above is edit after we found out original review: rooms bad and ancient staff apathetic plumbing very nice, i haven’t seen such water pressure since Russia they also have beautiful birds and a fox, which is awesome and playful half of amenities under water lol
