Hotel Del Lago

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Del Lago! My husband and I arrived to Sun Moon Lake and realized the place we had previously booked was not what we thought. We had passed Hotel Del Lago on our way in and thought it looked nice so we ran back over to see if they had a room available. Even though it was about 10 O’Clock at night they kindly let us in and not only got us a room but upgraded us to a suite. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. Not to mention, the view of the lake in the room was absolutely breathtaking. What was meant to be filler days on our trip ended up being a lovely highlight just because of the view and experience at Hotel Del Lago!

Currently in the middle of staying. We are very satisfied with our choice! parking is easy, staff is friendly, the room and the view is amazing. Also wanna shout out to Tommy from the front desk! We called a day before and he helped us out finishing the whole booking process under half hr, answered all our questions. In our first stay, he also already recommended lots of things to us. Great customer service!

I’m a bit confused as why this hotel is listed as a 4-star hotel. I think it would be a 2-star internationally, but perhaps a 3-star hotel compared to other local hotels. It’s definitely not a 4-star hotel. The staff and breakfast were great, so I am rating based on the rooms. The room was dated with old carpet. I was upset that I let my relatives book the hotels. If you’re traveling with family, please don’t let them rush you to make a decision. Let them book their own and you can research and take the time to book a place you are comfortable with. Usually when I travel, I am in charge of booking hotels, but I made the mistake of trusting others this time. I can’t remember if they gave slippers, but I definitely made sure my daughter and I wore slippers in the room at all times. On a brighter note, the hotel is centrally located and very convenient to the pier. Right outside is a street geeked with shops and restaurants. It’s only a few minutes walk to catch the ferry.
