Really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Dena recently! It's great to have a modern, clean and contemporary option in Pasadena, mostly known for its older (see "historic") and traditional accommodations. Another user described this place as vibrant and I would agree with just that. Staff is helpful and accommodating, breakfast promo at the Lyric is a great deal and the Agents Only bar is a neatly decorated spot for a strong drink after a long day. Love the self-serve market and the proximity to Old Town, which is just a shortish walk away. It's in an ideal location with no real street noise and I couldn't even tell you if I had neighbors, which means the rooms are pretty soundproof! I will say the bed was a little firm for my liking and the towels had some visible stains, but I still had a great couple nights' sleep and you can always request new linens. Looking forward to returning someday soon!

Very old rooms, renovated from an old apartment setting. Coffee machines from the 80s. Iron is missing from the room. Ironing board was not updated since the 80s. Breakfast is better than expected. Staff is good looking and nice. Location is not bad.

They charge $30/night for parking, but don't assume that you are guaranteed a spot if there is an event because then it is first come, first served, even though event-goers only pay $15. How many times did I have to drive around for 15 minutes trying to find a spot? You have to get on a waiting list to get a microwave for your room (in 2025) and good luck on that. The restaurant's food is tasty, but dang, $37 for a chicken & shrimp fajita?!? The maids would open my inner curtains, which at night time when I get home, walking into your room, you wouldn't notice right away. So imagine you come in taking your clothes off so you can shower only to look up and see that your curtains are open. This happened a few times. Came home one day and they had "fixed" my bed, but left dirty towels in the bathroom with no replacements, and didn't remove the trash. Had to go downstairs to get wash rags and towels and at least 2 occasions. Oh, and I was on a business trip, but I moved to another hotel, but my co-workers got put out of the hotel because AGT was coming. They were given a day's notice. How rude. I hope my company never does business with these people again.
