Hotel Der Schmittenhof

During our stay in Zell am See, we spent the night at Hotel Schmittenhof, located at the foot of the Schmittenhöhe. The location is absolutely perfect for both winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. The ski lift is within walking distance, which is ideal for an active holiday. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained. Our balcony offered a beautiful view of the mountains – a wonderful way to start the day. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and equipped with modern amenities. What stood out to us most was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was extensive, with a good selection of bread, fruit, eggs, and local specialties. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent as well! Jeff

The hotel is almost ski in ski out because there's a piste that goes directly behind the hotel, but still a bit of walking in ski boots is required. They have a ski room and a separate room for the boots as well with a separate entrance. One can't go into the hotel lobby in ski boots. I liked our room very well, it had a great view of the mountains and a separate den and bedroom. The shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom was actually good and the bed super soft. The food was to die for, with breakfast as buffet and dinner could be selected from several options with the entree, soup and dessert by default, so the dinner consisted of 4 dishes (!) and we basically rolled out of the restaurant every night. If we weren't skiing, we would have to watch the portions much better!

Highly recommended Hotel. The staff were lovely, food was delicious and rooms were very nice… I travelled solo and can absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting a very easy and enjoyable ski holiday. The ski bus stops right outside every 15 mins! Till next year!
