Hotel Die Sonne

We’ve been staying at the hotel for the whole week and it was just an incredible experience. During our stay, from the very beginning to the end, the staff was very nice, friendly, kind, helpful and professional. You felt really welcome at this amazing place. Our junior suite room was perfect for us as a couple with a kid. Interior of the room is super cozy, designed in a local style and you really can’t hear other people from the rooms around, which is very comfortable. Restaurant! Amazing breakfasts - big selection of everything you can imagine, lunch - buffet style and sometimes it was tricky for us to get something our kid would eat, due to the options we’ve had. For adults it was definitely enough and tasty. Dinners - massive experience, selection of starters, soups, main courses and deserts made for you according to your choice which tou make each morning. Every day there is a cocktail of the day and also a non alcoholic version, which is nice detail. Spa with the pool was nice and clean (as the whole hotel), our 4yo loved it there. Nice playground for the kids, always clean and ready in the morning. You can tell that every details is important to the owners. We felt amazing a whole week and we will definitely come back. We recommend this hotel to the families, who search for a comfort and fun for their kids during the stay. Another bonus was that in Saalbach is so many things to do as a family and it was fun!

Another fantastic family holiday at the Die Sonne. We had a wonderful trip returning in early March for a family ski holiday. Highlights this time included using the spa and sauna house (which we didn’t manage to make it to last year). The facilities are amazing and I really enjoyed the infusions and the salt scrub. We spent time in the hot tub and the pool with our son. He enjoyed the kids club and made lots of crafts and even painted another T shirt for us after making one last year. I was delighted to see that the mini club team had been expanded and that the hours had too after being disappointed with the 9-12.30 coverage offered last year. This year Diana and Lea were on hand to play with our son (4 years old) when he gave up on his ski lessons! This allowed me to continue with mine - knowing he was having a great time and making lots of German and Austrian pals too! Food was great as usual for adults but the children’s offerings a little repetitive. Staff took time point out allergens as my some has a nut allergy which put us at ease. Breakfast was great too, with waffles and omelettes alongside a lovely granola and yogurt station. Service in the evening was fantastic once again and guided by Martina and Victor. We also had a visit from Rosa the magician which our son loved. He also enjoyed petting Garfield. The hotel is so cozy and I felt so relaxed while there. It was definitely busier than last year but we still found space at the bar and service was quick and ample - in fact sometimes too good as I ended up with Hugos when I didn’t order them (although maybe that was my husbands doing). The taxi service was very helpful - we wouldn’t have managed without it as our son struggled in his ski boots. Thank you for giving us such a lovely room too!

We stayed at this hotel from 7.6-11.06 In general it was good, but probably this is not the hotel we were looking for.. I will try to mention as much points as possible of what we liked and where it can be improved. The hotel has concept of all inclusive, in this hotel you can have any drinks unlimited throughout the day alcohol/non alcohol/hot/cold. Many people are attracted by this offer. However for us this was not the main point. The main point or us was food. And when we have just arrived on 7.6 there was buffet evening with Austrian style.. and I would say it was not the level of 4s hotel.. and the hotel was full, very crowded in the buffet area.. ventilation did not work well. We were sweated in a small room within small table.. fortunately the next day we got the table changed to a blue area. And that room was really nice and there was even different level of service. I want to really highlight Axile, she was super professional, friendly and polite. 8.6 food was fine. Soups and salad should be taken form bufet here. Salads are very limited and the appetizers are not really attractive.. One day was a bit of disaster for evening, first the bread has finished and I asked for more bread, then they brought partially baked bread with frozen part inside! Unacceptable. I want to thank a lot the housekeeping team as every day they made a really great cleaning of our room, thanks for that. What we really did not like here is also, the smoking area just in the entrance of this hotel, this is disgusting when you enter or leave hotel people should just cross this are through the smoke! We liked cars for children outside, but please make smth with the parking borders. The really perfect evening was on 10.06 food was really amazing for dinner and evening show with Peter Willie was amazing! Please check the ventilation. One evening on 9.06 ford was not tasty at all, and people were waiting for pasta in a queue that evening which is really strange to control the food and prepare immediately so people should not wait in this small buffet room. I would also highlight sauna area, this was really nice. There is kids room downstairs. But the room is very small and some toys could be cleaned better. Joker card is provided. I guess this hotel will be good for some other guests, and probably for us this was not a perfect option. And I would say also that this hotel is a bit overpriced actually. The gourmet experience should be improved as currently this is not the level of 4s
