Hotel Diego de Almagro Calama Express

Nice and clean hotel, small city but interesting location

Room is clean and size is big enough. The bed moves every time you turn in bed creating a gap between the bed and the wall where the pillows fall. The bottom sheet came cam loose from the bed. Breakfast is good but dinner selection is very limited.

4/21/24 I had a terrible experience with the receptionist call David, arrogant and confrontational are just two of the adjectives will list but I can think of plenty more. Over a simple request to purchase a cerveza I had to tolerate this aggressive individual. After a long days work on my videos I came down from my room on a Sunday to ask for a cerveza to be told NO the restaurant is closed, I said OK can I purchase one regardless and was told I can but only with cash, I said no problem, so we both walked to the restaurant to the fridge behind the counter, this individual turned around and told me to get around to the front of the counter, I said ok but I can at least point to the beer I would like. At that point he stared aggressively at me and point blank said, no, you need to move to the other side of the counter, I was in a state of shock. He then slammed the fridge door shut and told me he now has decided he will not sell me a beer. What! I couldn’t believe what I was experiencing here, such disrespect, I am a 68 years old retired person from the USA who is traveling around South America on my motorcycle and have been for one year and a half and I have never ever been treated with such disrespect at any hotel I have ever stayed. I will never stay at any of the Hotel de Almagro chain or recommend anyone to stay at this chain if these are the type of employees they hire. Further more,when I asked his name to report him he tried to avoid the question and walked off, only when I filmed him with my phone did he decide to give me his name. Terrible Terrible.
