Hotel Diehlberg

We had a wonderful experience. The hotel was very cozy and comfortable with great hospitality . Bar was very nice and we had real fun at the bar. Crew was very friedly and welcoming. We loved the fascinating landscape which was truly amazing as well. For the furry friends its also a great place. Dogs are allowed everywhere and they made nice arrangements to make it a super pet friendly place. We look forward to our next visit in summer. Enjoyed every moment of our stay and surely comes highly recommended...

The hotel needs maintenance in some rooms. The curtains of my room were torn. The tap in the bathroom had never been cleaned at the rear and the biggest disappointment was the fact that one can book on-line wellness, but in the end it turns out that the wellness could not be booked at all. What a pity!

The location, the bar, and the staff of this hotel are all good. The rest less so and are, we felt, heavily overpriced. The pool is heated but too cold and the wellness area is quite quickly filled. The food isn't worth the price that's being paid for and seems to capitalize on the fact that it's the only restaurant nearby, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is that of a canteen. An effort has been made to give it some good vibes but the light is too bright and there's no music. The quality of the rooms is again not worth the price. Why should you come here? From here you can start beautiful walks around the Biggesee or take the train to explore the Sauerland. The staff seems to be a gem, as non-German speakers we felt welcome. And finally the bar makes you forget all the formentioned issues. The host is excellent, welcoming and the bar has a good selection of drinks. The vibe is a good mix between 80/90's German bar with a modern twist, a pleasurable place to spend some time. We had fun with the Kempers liquors. Nevertheless, we felt that the money we spent during our whole stay wasn't worth what we got.
