This is a fun and interesting boutique hotel. Staff are nice, and you are close to most things. You need them to buzz you in and out the front gate, but that was never a problem. Breakfast was fairly basic with fresh fruit and some toast, eggs and bacon. Exactly what I wanted. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Fun kitschy vibe.
This historic home converted into a hotel .(bed & breakfast as we refer to it in the states) has spectacular service, is extraordinarily clean, and is like a museum with antiques galore. At the same time it has all of the modern accommodations you can desire. It also doesn't hurt that it is less than a five minute walk from a lively district with more bars and restaurants than you can count. One could ask for nothing more.
What I like in my Colombian hotels - wifi, hot water, and air conditioning. Don Alfonso has it all, plus it's clean and close to the best part of town without being loud at night. Great place if you're not looking for absolute luxury.
