I really loved this hotel .. but not for the service etc.. but for the WONDERFUL gallery of Frida Kahlo paintings in the restaurant area. I liked the atmosphere there and for the price it was amazing.
We stayed here for 3 days in late February. I have lots of thoughts about this hotel, so I’ll break it down into pros and cons. Pros: Private parking with security, rooms are cleaned and towels refreshed daily (besides Sunday), walking distance to the city center and restaurants, free breakfast, on site laundry facilities ($100 pesos for wash/dry and detergent), has a swimming pool Cons: Hotel is located on the same side of the street as several bus stops, so there is always heavy foot traffic, sidewalks are super narrow, which is not great if you’re traveling with a stroller or wheelchair, the rooms are not toddler friendly (we were traveling with a 2 and 4 year old)— the bed frames are concrete, hard floors, sharp edges on all the furniture, fragile lamps sticking out of the wall. The room was cleaned daily, but it was very old, and the bathroom was moldy. Bathroom also has a window to the outside that is always open, and you can hear other guests bathroom noises from your room and vice versa. No washcloths included, and the bath towels are child-sized. The breakfast was not great. We were served pasta with a red sauce, eggs with salsa, bread, coffee cake, and jello. The pasta for breakfast was especially unusual, but maybe that’s a cultural thing. Overall, we got what we paid for. This isn’t the nicest hotel, but the staff was nice, and it was walking distance to some things. I probably wouldn’t stay here again though. The included photos are of the breakfast and our room. We had to place chairs around the beds to keep the kids from falling off.
The hotel is not as what the website shows on the photos. They must be photos from 1800s. Beds were too small for two, old sheets and towels, no english TV channels, no microwave, refrigerators', no counter in the bathrooms. we stayed because we had paid but I was ready to move out the next day. I wont recommend the place for to anyone they may be embraced.
