Hotel Du Nord

We enjoyed our stay and the service from almost all of the staff was great! I would encourage any visitor that likes to have an adult beverage not to drink in the Hotel Bar as the bartender is very rude and likes to sit outside with her friends smoking and drinking wine and not doing her job. Everyone else we encountered were very helpful and friendly and we highly suggest staying here when in Interlaken. The location is an easy walk to the train station that makes this an great home base to explore the area.

The location is excellent. Great view from the room and the breakfast area. @ - No air conditioning; absolutely uninhabitable during this heatwave. - The room looks nothing like the photos; very small and run-down. - Bizarre rules like you can't wash your socks or any intimate clothing, whereas they do not have any laundry service either. Upon asking, the staff didn't even know what dry cleaning is, and shoved a laundromat brochure at our hand. Are we there for a holiday or to do washing? And are guests who are staying for a week just supposed to be wearing used socks and pants? - Cleaning was below-par, with staff actually putting back used glasses from bathroom back into the desk. - Sheets not being changed; absolutely Appalling quality of pillows. Most critically, they tried to gaslight me by saying I have enjoyed the view because of a free upgrade, and my reserved room didn’t have the “luxury”. While, the room description of the room that I reserved starts with the mention of the same view! This hotel needs to take a good look at what they are providing and what it actually means to be a 4 star.

Extremely Disappointed – Avoid at All Costs My experience at Hotel Du Nord has been nothing short of terrible. The property is completely misrepresented. The rooms are in poor condition, and basic amenities like drinking water are not provided. The air conditioning doesn’t work, making the stay very uncomfortable. The staff is shockingly rude and unhelpful. The manager is completely unresponsive and dismissive – it’s clear they have no interest in solving any issues. Check-in and check-out were delayed with no proper communication, and the whole process felt like mental torture. Room cleaning is only available until 2 PM, and even then, it’s subpar. The service here is absolutely disgraceful. You’re better off staying at one of the many other well-rated hotels in Interlaken. Save your time, money, and peace of mind – do not stay here.
