Hotel du Nord

Very humble & cooperative staff of hotel. Our hotel booking was cancelled by Company & reached there by mistake & stucked at late evening after journey of 18 hours. They offered coffee & Pizza at no cost as well as cordinate with our company on behalf of us as it was difficult to describe problem & arrange transportation at that time.

Chosen originally for convenience of location, but we returned (twice) because the hotel, staff and Volksdorf itself were so nice. Beautiful modern and spacious rooms, great comfort and a warm welcome even in Covid crisis times. Pricier than average for the area but worth it. Will be back.

We are business visitors to HH and this hotel was booked for us. Lovely hotel, perfectly located, professional front desk & service staff, ‘boutique’ interiors - so far so good. BUT - breakfast was expensive for what you got: lukewarm to downright cold /tough scrambled eggs & bacon, the coffee was terrible - you get better quality (Dallmayr) coffee and food at the autobahn service stations. Also - the room had some sort of outlandish ‘aircon’ - a noisy bulky floor-based blower with a large diameter hose - never seen anything like this before in over 40 yrs of international business travel. The hotel restaurant price level (EU 35 for a plate of spaghetti is outrageous) - so we went to the Dorfkrug restaurant just across the hotel and had dinner there - excellent food at acceptable prices.
