Cozy and well run hotel in zurs! The hotel is charming with gorgeously designed interiors and an amazing staff. I loved the location in the heart of zurs. The food, spa, bar and ski shop were all perfect and made the stay very easy and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back!
We stayed at Hotel Edelweiss for three nights before Christmas Eve. Our stay was very positive, and we would consider staying again. Positives: - Location: The hotel is surrounded by ski lifts, and you can be skiing in minutes from the hotel door. Additionally, a free ski bus runs outside the hotel every 10 minutes if you want to reach another town. We took the bus to Lech to try the sledding hill and shop. - Ski facilities: The locker room was convenient and warm, and all the ski gear was stored safely. We also purchased our ski passes at the hotel. - Bar/Lunch: The complimentary welcome drink and snack were lovely after being in the car all morning. Additionally, the bar staff were friendly and helpful. The lunch menu was good, and we ended up eating twice. - Sauna: The spa area has a nice sauna and steam room, which is very quiet. We also had a nice massage. -Room: The room was huge, and the bathroom was fresh and clean. There was enough room for two adults and two kids. - Decor: the hotel is decorated nicely with many fun prints and accessories. Negatives: - Dinner was the biggest problem; we stayed with the 1/2 board package, but what was included was confusing. When we asked our server what was included, she said, “You can have anything,” but that was only true if you wanted to spend more money. One of our children couldn’t have the dessert with the set menu due to allergies, so she asked if she could have vanilla ice cream. We didn’t expect to have additional charges for the ice cream. Additionally, we were charged for bread even though it was brought to our table automatically, and we had the 1/2 board package. Also, she said my daughter could substitute for a schnitzel, but then we were charged. We didn’t mind paying; it felt like it was not communicated clearly when asked. Additionally, the server forgot to put one of our orders into the kitchen each night. The first night, my son’s starter came out 30 minutes after everyone else's. The server asked three times if we were ready for our main dishes, and I kept saying we were waiting for my son to receive his starter before we moved to our main dishes. The following two nights, my daughter did not receive her main dish. We ate without her the first night because it took so long for her to finally receive it. The next night, her food was forgotten again, so I gave her my food and skipped dinner. I didn’t want to make everyone sit and wait again. The food was good at each meal, but the service was awkward, leading to disappointment each evening. Based on the dinner experience, I would not do the 1/2 board again.
We ordered a dinner for our first evening. The food was nothing to write home about and the service was quite low! Very basic. Not attentive at all. The plates were quite small and very expensive. Very pricy. Service in the breakfast was good. The service in the lobby though was towering (hoch aufragend) especially during check out (while returning the ski pass tickets) and in both experiences- dinner and check out no one takes responsibility. No one says: I'm sorry for what happened or offers to comppesate for what happened. During our check in one of our friends who ordered and paid for a single room was almost thrown to the street befor he succeeded to prove he has a valied reservation and after you found a solution of moving 3 rooms no one asked of how he may have been compensated. I don't think I will recommend your hotel to friends. Referring to your response to my criticism I can say that: 1. No one offered any addition to our plates, one of my friends who ordered a pasta complained about his unsatisfying dish and no one offered anything. 2. In your menus it was impossible to understand what you offer and the difference between the tow allegedly restaurants. 3. During our stay, the lobby stuff was helpful yet you didn't try to answer to what happened to me at check out. I'm still shocked that the woman who took back my ski pass cards hide it in a box and refused to return it to me very aggressively although I only stated she was wrong. 4. My friend who did not get the room he reserved did not get the bigger room as a compensation but as a solution to the fact you couldn't find other room for him. You never asked him if this seems like a fair compensation. 5. All in all I think your response looks childish and not professional.at all. But, as you said, you are located in a beautiful place and your clientele don't care about the prices they have to pay or the service you give so you can go on like this. Why not? I promise to recommend friends to go to Zurs, yet to avoid your services. Ilan
