We went to El Copal for the amazing sunset and views. It’s truly spectacular and a wonderful place to enjoy some of the best views in Mazunte. As others mentioned, if you’re not staying there you need to spend 300 MX each. We didn’t have a problem with this as it’s a busy hotel, and the views are worth it. Unfortunately the food did not match the views. We all had fish and it was a very thin cut and was cooked way too long, so it was very dry. I still recommend going for the views alone, but don’t expect much for food.

Love the food, we went for food and to hang out in the atmosphere. Really good job of making it elegant but w nature. Lots of steps to climb but the view is amazing. The staff was also amazing. The owner gave us a tour and cute bungalows. We saw crabs walking around and the ocean is a just down at the bottom. Wear your sunscreen you will burn. It only took me about 45 minutes to darken up.

The upside of this place is the view, it was very beautiful from our cabin, also the two guys that helped us bring our luggage down were great. Aside from that, we were disappointed. We had dinner at their restaurant which was OK, but as other customers were leaving, the manager yelled out that they had not left a tip so everyone else could hear. It was so disrespectful and just felt straight out wrong. We damaged our vehicle on their parking lot because it’s in such bad shape and when I asked the girl at the front desk if she knew of anyone who could help us fix it she replied that she knew of someone but asked for money just to give me his information so I just left it like that, by the way, make sure you have a 4x4 if you drive there, the street leading to their parking lot is horrible. I paid my balance in cash but they had no change so they told me they would give it to me later but they never did, it just felt like they were money hungry, such a bad look. The cabins are in good condition but privacy is nonexistent there. Every time we took a shower we would have to squat just so no one by the pool or walking on their way to the restaurant would see us. I had my young daughter with me so it felt extremely unsafe. Their bathrooms have “dry toilets” which is basically a hole in the ground that stinks, we could even smell it when we were trying to sleep. Their cabins have signs that read that they are not responsible for items in your room being lost during your stay which made us think, why would anything get lost in our room??? so sketchy. We made sure to pack all our stuff when we went out just in case. We even left a day early because we couldn’t take it anymore. This place is probably right for some people but for my family and I it was definitely not.
