Staff is super friendly and helpful, can't say enough good things about them. The hotel is right on 5th avenue, balcony rooms overlook the strip so it's great for people watching and having a few drinks. That being said it's VERY loud at night (to be expected but something to keep in mind) and the restaurants start BLASTING music at 8am. Not so good for my hangover. Rooms are decent, bed was comfortable but location is what's good and bad about this hotel. Know what you're getting into before booking and you'll be ok.
Great location if you want to be in the thick of it, but not as nice inside as the pictures suggest, needs a bit of love and attention and some updating. I also found it a bit noisy, strangely not from outside (even though it's on 5th Avenue) but from people talking on the stairs and corridors (incl cleaning staff and management). Has everything you need and is fine but I probably wouldn't stay there again as there as are plenty of other decent options in Playa Del Carmen in the same price bracket.
Very disappointing. The only positive words I can say are for the location. Excellent 1 minute to the beach and right next to all the shops, restaurants, bars and clubs. Do not take room 20, we wanted a nice room bigger than the standard room they have. Room 20 has a large vent with vent motor loud and unpleasant when relaxing on the balcony and when sleeping. We had to downgrade to the standard smaller room. I asked for a refund for the price difference, but the Italian porter said no. But later agreed. We had room 26 under the rooftop bar. Good music to sleep too! OK all was fine on the first night until we had no towels. The cleaners left an envelope for the tip but no towels for the shower. Oh well we called reception, fine. Next day was fine after a good sleep. But we found out the complimentary coffee, no tea and mini water bottles are only for the first night. Also no light working in the main room, only bedside lamps. We gave up asking after 2 days. The light was fixed on our final night. Then to top it all off no hot water for our last 2 days. This hotel is a 2 maybe 3 star budget hotel. The room rates are fairly cheap so if you are OK with budget rooms, noise, faulty hot water, faulty TV reception, no towel rail to hang the towels and hand towel etc, it could be fine for you... This is not a Boutique hotel like the website and photos suggest. It's now looking worn and poorly maintained. Don't take room 20 or 26!
