We went on a bank holiday weekend, so yes, it's very crowded naturally, and there were a lot of families. Not that I'm complaining since we went as a family too! It's a decent hotel with great amenities such as their own onsen and swimming pool, but it's a tad overpriced. Location is great and very easily accessible - if you don't drive, they have a shuttle from Nasushiobara station to the hotel directly. I was disappointed in the long queues for riding the lift (there are 12 floors with 20 rooms each from what I understand and only 3 lifts, queue took over 20 minutes...), and the breakfast buffet where we had to wait 1 hour to be seated. No water bottle available in your room either is a bit of a letdown at this price. Food quality however was great overall - for both breakfast and dinner. We had dinner at the Nasuno restaurant (Japanese food) and it was really good, although the portion could have been a tad more generous - especially considering the price once again. Great view on the rooftop - it's worth seeing if you're staying. But would we come here again? I'm not sure.
Buffet is delicious but it is so crowded and noisy, does not feel luxurious for the price paid. There is a queue even on June weekdays. The breakfast has a booking system, so complicated.
The hotel has a lot of amenities, including a pool and hot springs. The dinner was phenomenal and everything was delicious. The grounds are nice to walk around and the view of the mountains was stunning. The problem was the room. The room was not clean when we checked in. The toilet had remnants, the cups had water marks and looked used, and there were rings on the tables from the previous person's drinks. It made me worried what other things were not clean since they missed such noticable things. At the cost per night, I was expecting at least a clean room. It was a shame since the rest of the visit was really nice.
