Just returned from a wonderful stay at Hotel Erwin in Venice. After an exhausting flight from Mauritius, I was greeted by Frank and Miguel at the front desk who went above and beyond to make my arrival smooth and comfortable. Throughout my stay, Frank also provided exceptional service with his friendly demeanor and helpful recommendations. Both Frank and Miguel’s genuine kindness and attention to detail immediately set the tone for my entire stay. The hotel’s beachfront location is unbeatable, with stunning ocean views and easy access to the Venice Boardwalk. The room was modern and well-appointed, perfect for unwinding after a long travel day. But what truly made my experience special was the exceptional hospitality - the warm welcome from Frank and Miguel reminded me why great service makes all the difference. Highly recommend Hotel Erwin for anyone visiting Venice Beach. Thank you, Frank and Miguel, for making a tired solo traveler feel so welcomed! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wonderful staff, incredible views, great location. I don’t think it’s mentioned enough in the reviews how LOUD it gets especially Friday and Saturday nights. I suppose it’s a symptom of the location and it’s not the hotel’s fault, but they do have music blasting from the rooftop until past 12am so if you’re staying in a top floor room like I was it’s super loud, and the sounds from the boardwalk are crazy loud too. Even with the doors closed and shades drawn, I needed noise cancelling headphones with white noise in order to sleep. Def not ideal as I was on a business trip and needed sleep. That doesn’t take away from the gorgeous views and wonderful time I had, I just think some people are noise sensitive and should have fair warning.
I usually find it difficult to leave a negative review, especially when the hotel staff are genuinely respectful, polite, and flexible. I truly appreciate how accommodating they were, they allowed me to check out early and only charged me for the nights I stayed, which I’m grateful for. Thankfully, they showed mercy and allowed me an early release. Felt like a reduced sentence! That being said, I want to share my personal experience honestly. While I understand that the surrounding area is beyond the hotel’s control, I personally found the neighborhood to be quite unsafe and not comfortable to walk around. The room was advertised as having a “city view,” but unfortunately, it overlooked a very narrow alley filled with trash — not an exaggeration. There was also an unpleasant smell throughout the floor I was on, but I wouldn’t describe the hotel as dirty. In the end, I don’t believe the hotel was worth the high price. If it had been more affordable, I could have understood some of these issues. But considering the cost, the experience did not meet my expectations.
